Give the Gift of Family Through Embryo Donation

Thank you for considering embryo donation. This generous and deeply meaningful choice can help create hope and joy for individuals and families who dream of building their family.

We strive to make the process as simple and comfortable as possible. If you are thinking about donation, our team is here to support you every step of the way so you can feel confident in your decision.

Before completing a donor embryo profile, please review the basic eligibility requirements and frequently asked questions below.

Who is Eligible to Donate?

You may be eligible to donate if your embryo(s):

  • Were created at and have always been stored at SGF.
  • Were created in 2009 or later.
  • If created in Colorado, embryos must have been created before January 1, 2025 to be eligible for donation.
  • Are frozen at the blastocyst stage (day 5 or 6).
  • Meet age guidelines for egg and sperm sources:
  • Egg source age 40 or younger at retrieval*.
  • Sperm source age 50 or younger at collection.
  • Exception: If embryos were PGT-A tested and are chromosomally normal (euploid)

What You’ll Share in Your Profile

Your profile helps us thoughtfully match embryo(s) with the right family. You’ll be asked to share:

  • Information about your embryo(s) and IVF journey
  • Basic demographic information (only used for administrative purposes)
  • Personal and family medical history (for both egg and sperm sources)
  • A short description of your personality, interests, and strengths
  • Optional message to the future recipient family
  • Childhood photos (ages 4–12)
  • Adult photos are optional.
  • We ask that you do not include photos of your children.

Privacy and Identification

SGF offers de-identified embryo donation, meaning no direct communication or exchange of identifying information will occur through SGF. However, it is important to understand that advances in genetic testing, online data sharing, or future social or legal changes could make it possible for donors, recipients, or donor-conceived individuals to identify one another outside of SGF’s program.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Choosing to donate your embryo(s) is a meaningful and lasting gift. If you meet the basic criteria above, we encourage you to apply now, below! We are honored to support you throughout this process and the Donor Embryo Team be in touch once you submit your profile.
